My car has gotten alright now

In one of my previous posts, I had written about my car that broken down. Finally diagnosed the problem by the help of a mechanic. You know what had happened? A rodent had bit the PVC rubber tube and this is the tube that passes air when we push the accelerator. Since there was a big hole, the air was forcefully pumped out of the hole that the rodent has created and there was a huge noise when we had started the vehicle. Got a new tube and replaced it.

Now comes the question. what if another rodent would not do the same? We had asked the mechanic and then he was mentioning that most of the car owners face this issue and one solution could be to use rat killing baits on the inside of the bonnet on either of the corners. Godd suggestion though but what if the rodent is smart enough?
