H1-B Visas

Here is a small statistics on H1-B Visas.

1998: Quota increased to 115,000

2001: Number raised to 195,000

2004: Slides to 90,000 due to slowdown

2007: Capped at 65,000

From 2007 on, it is stagnated to 65k. With the current slowdown in the US, I am afraid they may further drop this number. The US senators have questioned the Indian top companies and MNCs on how effectively they are using their visas. Their worry is that the native are left jobless in the whole process. This time they are looking into it very seriously. hmmm

Well its a matter of concern really for those who wants to be there in the US. But given the election in US coming and the speeches made by presidential candidates its not that intimidating yet. But had it been the previous contestant (last election) John Kerry who openly made anti-outsourcing and foreign professionals migration an election campaign. Still the data given by u are really suggest the lacking interest of US foreign policies with Indian workers being there, but end of the day, I m not judgmental on it though India will get paid back for its skilled labor pool.

Oh well, the skilled ones are absorbed come what may. Now it has become the case the a little less intelligent (poor thing) might have to struggle to place himself in the 65k quota.

Yeah, but again if these morons wanna be dollar earner they have to push themselves to the upper cadre or they should completely rely on the luck as it is now.

Thanks for considering me capable, but capable of what?? I like the US culture. and I wish if India had one like that.. but what I don't like is the fact that Indians and suffering from this negative tide of transition. Things are binary. Be it totally Indian culture its good, be it totally US its good, India is now undergoing this cultural transition and thats what makes it undefined and unstable.

India is following western culture.. we are in the transition. It will be fully done from next generation on as we are the one involved in the transition. You are capable of pissing people is what i had meant.. lol
