Gilchrist's retirement

It was a shock to hear about Adam Gilchrist's retirement. Gilchrist captained Australia in five tests, in the absence of Steve Waugh and then Ricky Ponting, for a record of three wins, one loss and one draw. Despite breaking the Test ‘keeping record, he has endured his struggles this summer through several costly dropped catches. However he had maintained he would not be pushed into retirement. All of a sudden came this announcement about his retirement. A wonderful oz cricketer whom I feel should have been there in the team for some more years. We do not want to lose good cricketers. He is truly a star.
