Recently, a new rule has come in place in Singapore. All taxi rates have been hiked up especially the ERP and the peak hour charges. The peak hour charges henceforth will be 35% of your total charge. For example, if your total charge is $10 SGD in peak hour then you got to pay $13.50 SGD including the 35% peak hour charge. To add to it, the peak hour in the morning has been extended until 9:30 am which used to be 9 am before.
I am sure not many people henceforth will prefer going by taxis hereafter. Singapore used to be the country that has had cheapest taxi rates. With this hike am not sure how it will be ranked globally. Come what may, from now on most of us will refrain from using taxis and wait for trains and buses.
