It was a mess for more than 3 hrs while I tried to figure out why Firefox browser did not start up. I tried to install the Alexa toolbar in my Firefox browser and that goofed up everything.
From that point, I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox many times but in vain. I tried to check the knowledge base of Firefox website and the steps explicated there did not work me unfortunately. I confirmed that it must be some other weird problem.
I was continuously checking other websites for help. I noticed one solution of creating a new profile for accessing the Firefox browser.
I typed the following command:
1. Click on the start -> run.
2. Type the command firefox.exe -P
3. A window pops up showing the default profile name. The window will have option of creating another profile. You can create a profile using your name and click the ok button
You are done :). From then on, Firefox opens up successfully.
