Let me tell you honestly. Being a mother is very demanding and challenging. Especially when the infants fall sick, we will be put into high pressure, stress and tension.. Totally its gruelling.
I wanted to point out few frequent illnesses that babies face during the initial few months and the remedy for the same. You may wonder if I am a physician to suggest medicines; well, it does not work that way. Simply because infants cannot consume heavy medicines.
Am going to suggest some OTC (over the counter) drugs that help in the relief.
1) When the infants suffer from terrible cold, we can do the following:
a) Take the baby to the bathroom, open hot water and let the steam come from it. Have the baby be around the steam for 15 minutes. The baby will soon recover if we do this few times
b) In the nostrils of the baby, instill a drop of salt water. Use a suction tube and grab all the stuffs from the nostrils. This way the mucus can be removed and the baby will feel relieved
2) When the infant suffers from wind pain in the stomach, we can do the following:
a) OTC we get the Infant colic drops "Dentinox". We can mix 2.5 ml of this medicine and mix in the milk and feed the baby 6 times a day and not more than that. This will relieve the wind pain to a great extent. I took my baby to the doctor and she had suggested this medicine and its available OTC and hence we need not consult the doctor for windpain
b) You can also give woodward's gripe water 6 times a day by feeding the infant with 5 ml of it each time
Check this site for more information on how to handle infants' illnesses. I will keep posting on this area.
In any case, check with your pediatrician and confirm the above.

Hi Lux,
I dont think its a good idea to use OTC drugs too much. Because it concerns a baby I think one should consult the doc anyways.
But you know better, you are the mom :)
Tell me if its ok
